Filming our Continuity task

Last night we began to film our footage for our continuity task. The overall shoot was a success and we managed to get all the shots that we required within a short time period. We ensured that we took multiple shots of each scene so that when it comes to the editing proccess we have a wider selection to choose from and hopefully that will mean that the final sequence will be better than our previous tasks. The location for our shoot was at my house, so I was famililar with the surroundings and access to elements such as lighting and health and safety. Unfortuantely the main light within my living room doesn't work so we had to use surrounding lamps. Hopefully this will not cause an issue for the overall quality of the footage as we managed to use the remaining natural daylight as backlighting. When it came to setting up shots, I decided that for some shots it would actually be easier to capture them in hand held mode rather than using a tripod. When we did the tripod, however, I found it hard for some of the shots to find enough space to be able to get the shot that I wanted. As a result some of the shots are at a closer range than others but because we have such a wide range this shouldnt become an issue once we get to editing. The overall shoot took around an hour to shoot. We made it a priority to try and include the key continuity shots. Im happy with how the filming went and i really feel that I became more adventurous with the range of shots that I was capturing and I now feel more confident to try and be more experimental with my work.
