Final cut of Continuity task

Here is the final cut of my Continuity task- The Breakup. I hope that you will enjoy watching it!

  1. 00:00 - reasonable use of titles and music; when you come to do your final project, make sure you clearly reasearch indystry conventions for titles
00:03 - nicely framed close-up, reasonable well lit
00:09 - framing here for the LS is a little odd, considering the amount of space above the girl's head - the camera move is a litle ropey. Not sure what she is reacting to
00:14 - there seems to be a slight continuity issue when she reaches for the door compared to where she is in the MS when she actually takes the handle
00:18 - fairly effective movement here and a good edit to the reverse of the girl through the door; this is well shot and edited - the only issue is a slight glitch int the audio which might have been covered by adding some ambient sound
00:22 - your camera is perhaps a little close to the subject here
00:23 - the white balance changes here, from slightly blue tinted to slightly pink. I can show you how to reset the white balance between shots
00:24 - the action match here works quite well, although I might have edited in the close-up a few frames earlier to show the beginning of the movement
00:26 - there is a slight error in terms of where Ben is positioned at the end of the CU and the beginning of the 2S
    00:30 - a fairly effective CU
00:32 - slight continuity issue here - Ben was holding the girl in the previous shot, now he isn't
00:37- a fairly effective tracking shot, although you are reflected in the mirror...
    00:43 - quite a well-framed CU of Ben
00:45 - you have cut out the beginning of the girl's lines; should have made the edit a little earlier
00:47 - similarly, with Ben's lines, these a cut a little. Somewhat odd to jump from a CU to MLS of the same character; would generally expect to cut to the other character and back, or to a 2s. You hold this shot for a little too long; we would expect to cut to Ben a little earlier, in order to establish their relationship (both personal and georgraphical)
01:03 - you're getting quite a lot of noise from holding the camera; I would suggest using a tripod in order to avoid this
01:10 - you adhere to the 180 degree rule well and your use of shot/ reverse is effective
01:13 - a good edit from MLS to BCU - very effective and appropriate
01:24 - fairly well-framed 2S and the reverse angle also works well
01:40 - a rather obvious continuity error here, considering where the girl is look ing at the end of the previous shot. Also, a little odd that the camera moves away from her when she is speaking, although I appreciate that it might be symbolic. I would have probably cut back to a CU of the girl, holding this before the fade
