Looking into conventions of title sequences

I started some of my initial research today into title sequences and their traditional conventions. I found overall that many title sequences are extremely technical with major visual effects and hours worth of animations that would be very challenging to attempt but not impossible. I also discovered that the order of credits can vary from film to film, there seemed to be a pattern of having the directors name at the end but apart from that it could be quite widely varied. (Some titles didn't even include the names of the actual film!)
I still haven't come to a decision on which genre to make my film, which is something that needs to be finalized sooner rather than later. But for now I shall continue my research into title sequence conventions and hopefully that will help me to narrow down my options.
